Personality and Role Profile
You are an energetic and passionate person forming an integral part of our dynamic team, responsible for driving revenue and performance across the hotel’s corporate market across all areas of the hotel. You will support the Sales and Events team overall in executing relevant actions in managing bookings in relation to other segments as necessary.
Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will work collaboratively with the Director of Sales & Marketing and Director of Revenue to ensure business is secured at optimum rates that reflect the brand’s positioning and support the hotel’s commercial objectives. The role requires a strong balance of client engagement, sales performance, and relationship building whilst always upholding the luxury standards for which The Phoenicia Malta is renowned. You will be a solid team member of the hotel’s Sales and Marketing Department and The Phoenicia Malta team as a whole.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Develop and implement tailored sales strategies and action plans to maximise revenue generation from the local and international corporate segments.
• Monitor and evaluate segment performance, proactively adjusting activities to meet or exceed budgeted targets.
• Support the DOS&M and Director of Revenue to prepare, distribute, and manage Tour Operator contracts.
• Manage key account relationships and sales efforts to secure high-value business from the corporate sector.
• Actively participate in relevant sales calls, site inspections, sales trips, trade shows, and networking events to promote the hotel and build relationships.
• Work in close liaison with the Director of Revenue to ensure pricing strategies for proposals are competitive and aligned with overall revenue goals.
• Attend weekly Revenue meetings coming prepared to discuss potential opportunities which can maximise revenue potential.
• Collaborate with the hotels Operations, Events, Marketing, and Reservations teams to ensure client experiences are seamless from initial contact through to event or stay.
• Work with Finance Team to ensure timely payment of deposits and invoices.
• Oversee the accurate and timely processing of proposals, contracts, and correspondence by the Sales Administrator.
• Ensure data integrity within CRM systems and maintain regular reporting on sales activities, pipeline status, and conversion rates.
• Provide timely and insightful sales reports to the Director of Sales & Marketing as required.
Desirable Experience, Qualifications, and Attributes
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
• Commercially driven with a strategic mindset and sales-focused approach.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Collaborative and proactive with a solution-oriented mindset.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Opera.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in hotel sales, preferably in a luxury environment.
• Proven track record in driving revenue from Consortia, Corporate, and Group segments.
• Degree or diploma in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
• Fluent in English; Maltese is considered an asset.
