Personality and Role Profile
You are ambitious, passionate and energetic person. You are responsible for maximising hotel revenue and profitability through banqueting, event and wedding sales. Duties are carried out in line with the hotel’s guidelines and business plan, the departmental business plan, and the Hotel’s service concepts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Is responsible for maximising hotel revenue and profitability through the sales of Weddings, Conferences and other functions.
• Ensure that Opera Systems is updated with customer/client data.
• Promote a helpful and professional image to the customer with full cooperation when requiring assistance, ensuring a prompt, caring, and helpful attitude.
• Assist and follow-up on potential inquiries as necessary in a prompt, efficient, and professional manner.
• Strive to anticipate customer needs whenever possible to enhance quality service; and in turn, enhance customer satisfaction in accordance with hotel standards.
• Forecast potential revenues and costs to ensure that budget is met when viewing banquet expected revenue targets.
• Have a complete knowledge of all Banquet facilities including menus, venue hiring rates, venues availability and contractual terms & conditions.
• Keep a constant update on availability of conference rooms in liaison with Reservations, the Revenue Manager, and the F&B Operations Manager.
• Have a complete knowledge of costing and pricing of all areas.
• Develop and maintain sales to achieve maximum profits from rooms, weddings, conference & banqueting, and food & beverage.
• Assign markets and business segments, to Sales Executives, in order to enhance Hotel sales.
• Prepare reports required on customer accounts and collate relevant information for input into computerised sales systems.
• Maintain an updated data system on Opera S&C of ground handlers, DMCs, conference organisers, incentive houses, venue finders, and corporate bookers; both on a local, and on an international level.
• Submit required sales reports in accordance to the reporting system set by the DOSM.
• Assist in the development of the yearly marketing plan, and in the forecasting process.
Desirable Experience, Qualifications, and Attributes
• Previous experience in event sales environment.
• Proven record of negotiated deals related to events organisation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
• Excellent command of the English language (written and oral) and one other language.
• Ability to work to strict deadlines in an organised fashion and on own initiative.
• Knowledge of Opera Sales & Catering will be considered an asset.
